Sugar Land's latest entertainment destination nearing completion

Sugar Land's highly anticipated indoor performing arts venue reached a milestone last weekend: its first show.
The Smart Financial Centre's billed its Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular as a holiday event - think Christmas music accompanied by acrobatics and dancing - just a month before Jerry Seinfeld is scheduled to take the stage for the venue's grand opening.
At a media tour last week, the venue was configured for the largest audience it can accommodate, about 6,400 people. It only takes 20 minutes to shrink the audience chamber to 3,000 seats, thanks to the venue's movable walls and a back curtain.
"The venue itself is really designed to be able to accommodate any artist of any size and make it feel like they should be in this venue," General Manager Randy Bloom said.
